9 Things Every Woman Should Have

One of the things I love about being a woman is the fact that I can buy a cute version of everything I need—I regard this as a source of some main character moments in life. Imagine going to a yoga class with the cutest water bottle ever, or going to bed in soft silk pajamas as if you’re attending the infamous Blair Waldorf’s sleepover… I would say, “You go, girl!” and hand out a list of things every woman should have for reference.

1. A Good Skincare Routine: Finding a suitable skincare routine for your skin type can be a challenging journey full of trial and error. For oily, acne-prone skin like mine, finding a staple routine felt like discovering a needle in a haystack. With that said, my routine has been consistent since 2021, and I don’t see myself changing it anytime soon.

2. A Staple Pair of Jeans: I’m such a jeans girlie. I would wear jeans to work if it weren’t prohibited. Whether you like them or not, I think that it’s important to have at least one staple pair (or more) for casual get-togethers now and then. Easy to match, jeans look good with basically anything.

3. Comfortable Sandals: We. Women. Love. Shoes. There is no denying it. For daily use, however, I much prefer it when my feet have room to breathe. That’s why I will always stand my ground against the sandal slander (if such a thing exists). A pair of comfortable sandals is a must-have.

4. A Daily Water Bottle: Stay hydrated. Never leave the house without a water bottle. Adequate water intake means a healthier lifestyle—and a healthier lifestyle means a better chance at better skin. To make drinking water more exciting, I use this very cute bottle that once made my colleagues squeal, “Where did you get that from? Give me the link!”

5. Lip Products that Match Your Skin Undertone: I wish I looked good in bright red lipstick, but I know I don’t. I found my go-to lip product in the form of a natural rose-shade tint instead. My take on this is: we should all find at least one good lip product that matches our skin undertone.

6. Some Cute Sleepwear: “What’s the point of wearing cute sleepwear? People aren’t going to see that!” I wear those cute pajamas for myself, thank you very much.

7. A Jewelry Stack: I don’t mean to encourage anyone to become a gold or diamond hoarder. It’s entirely possible to look cute while still being frugal. Online marketplaces nowadays offer so many affordable jewelry pieces to collect. You can use them to elevate your look—trust me, even a basic tee looks much more chic with a simple necklace.

8. Enough Bags: It’s hard not to splurge on beautiful bags. However, since I’m all for a more minimalist lifestyle, I choose to keep only enough bags in my wardrobe. You just have to strategize—collect several different types of bags instead of buying three similar ones in different colors.

9. A Go-To TV Show: A perfect way to wind down after work is going home to a feel-good TV show. Off the top of my head, I recommend Friends, Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Big Bang Theory, Gilmore Girls, and Sex and The City. Choose your fighter.
