I Heart (This) Pizza
If I'm about to participate in communal dining, the first thing that pops into my mind will most likely be: “Pizza! I’ll bring pizza!”. Not only is it easy to share, but it’s also generally loved by everyone. While I appreciate pizza for its practicality, I must admit that I’ve never considered it a personal favorite. That said, I do know a damn good pizza when I taste one.
With that introduction, it would be a crime not to recommend a great one. So let’s say "Ciao!" to Pizza Head, a small pizza joint located in Pos Bloc, Central Jakarta.
My friends and I stumbled upon this place a few months ago. It was a spontaneous decision, prompted by my friend’s craving for something quick after our night walk. Since it was already 10 p.m. and most flavors were sold out, we ordered a whole pan of Hawaiian Pizza—a New York-style variant with beef bacon, smoked beef, onion, pineapple, basil, and honey mustard.
I wasn’t sure what made me think it was the best pizza I had ever had. Was it hunger, the unexpectedly good pineapple, or all the burnt calories talking?
To test my theory, I went back a few weeks later with a different group of friends. It was still early in the day, but my target flavor, the Mushroom Pizza, was already sold out. Sad. We then went with a classic Pepperoni Pizza with cheese.
Guess what? It was gooood.
In conclusion: I heart this place. I heart the pizza in this place.
P.S. I'll update you guys once I finally try the Mushroom Pizza. Care to place a bet? I'm pretty sure it will blow my mind.
