Why Pison, Thamrin Should Be on Your Foodie Radar
Two days ago, my colleagues and I had a nice dinner at a restaurant called Pison, Thamrin. Given the quality of the food, I would say the restaurant is extremely underrated! That's why I woke up this morning determined to spread the word about it: if you're looking for a cozy spot with tasty food in Jakarta, Pison should be high on your list of recommendations.
Our orders:
#1 - Chicken Mushroom Pie
The first dish that arrived at our table was our shared order: Chicken Mushroom Pie. It tasted absolutely delicious, so I made a mental note to come back for it soon.
#2 - Pappardelle Alfredo
After the pie, we ordered another dish to share: Pappardelle Alfredo. Served in creamy mushroom sauce, bacon, omega egg yolk, and drizzled with truffle oil, this pasta was so good that I, without hesitation, took another spoonful to savor the taste once again.
#3 - Roasted Chicken
This roasted and grilled chicken, served on top of crispy sautéed potatoes with Pison's homemade sauce and basil, turned out to be my least favorite dish of the night. I probably should have ordered something else for my main course, since the sauce tasted like Indonesian curry, and I had expected something different. Still, the dish was good overall.
#4 - Carrot Cake
For dessert, we shared a plate of carrot cake, which satisfied my taste buds. From the strong cinnamon smell to the nuts and the perfect cream cheese filling between the layers, everything about this "cake of the day" was perfect.
#5 - Cheesecake
And finally, the last dish of the day: we shared a plate of cheesecake—the kind I really liked.
