Not an Adventurer IRL, but Catch Me in Pelican Town
If exploring the world includes plucking salmonberries from random bushes, fighting off monsters in dark mines, and learning how to fish, I’d say it’s going to be super challenging. Random fruit can be poisonous, it’s hard to fight with my glasses on (but also impossible without them), and I’m pretty sure I suck at fishing—but I’m currently doing all that! How crazy is that?
Well, who am I kidding? Everyone knows I’m not much of an adventurer (too bad). It’s so not dramatic when I admit I’m doing all that in an RPG game called Stardew Valley. I bought the app for almost IDR 80,000, started last week, and now I’m obsessed…
I know I’m super late to the hype, but this game is so fun that it’s hard to put down once I’ve started. I named my character Nina (as in Nina Zenik from the Six of Crows duology) and called her farm Swift Farm (because I love Taylor, obviously).
Harvesting is easy, I tell you. What I still can’t do to this day is fish. No matter how much I feel like YouTube tutorials have helped me, I keep letting the fish get away. Ugh.
I have so much going on right now—I’m a busy woman in Pelican Town—so I’ll keep this post short. In the meantime, I’m off to see what Nina can do to become the town’s favorite farmer girly. Go, Nina! Achieve that title for both of us!
