From Office Celebrations to Casual Dates: A Thai Food Recommendation

Like typical coworkers, my workmates and I have a favorite spot we visit every now and then called Thai Street. As our go-to spot for celebrating milestones, this restaurant has slowly become the first place I think of whenever someone asks me for a Thai food recommendation.

Fun fact: When I like something, I love sharing it with my loved ones—it just feels weird to keep it to myself. So the other day, when my boyfriend and I were looking for a good place to eat, I took him to Thai Street.

These were our orders:

Tom Yum Goong (Seafood) – IDR 88,000 (excluding tax)

Pandan Chicken – IDR 58,000 (excluding tax)

Prawn Omelette – IDR 58,000 (excluding tax)

Our favorite dish of the three was the pandan chicken. Its flavor was rich and tender. My boyfriend also liked the iced tea. He said it tasted "differently good"—honestly, I had no idea what he meant.

As a bonus, here are some other dishes I enjoyed with my workmates a while ago:

Tom Yum Suki  IDR 188,000 (excluding tax)

Baramundi Prik Sod  IDR 168,000 (excluding tax)

Thai Street Speciality Steamed Prawn  IDR 88,000 (excluding tax)

Gapraw Khai  IDR 48,000 (excluding tax)

Since I shared it with five workmates, the Tom Yum Suki didn’t seem too big for all of us. But it was a little too spicy for me, though not as sour as the Specialty Steamed Prawn. I especially loved the eggplants in the Gapraw Khai—they were exquisite.
