Tote-ally in Love with My First Crochet Mesh Bag

So, I finished my first mesh tote bag last Tuesday… and I really wanted to cry happy tears.

Look at those details, guys! I still can’t fathom that my fifth project turned out to be such a huge success. I used this tutorial video, and I really think you should try it too—the steps are super clear and easy to follow!

Apart from strengthening my skill in making more even patterns, this project has also taught me a great deal about patience.

As someone who wants to finish almost everything in one sitting, working on a larger project made me face the truth: not everything needs to be done quickly. I learned to handle every stitch with care, and in doing so, I realized the joy of slowing down and appreciating the process.

So what if it took me almost two weeks to finish? I only worked on it for about an hour a day—and I’m still a beginner trying to level up. It’s a beautiful process that I’ll cherish forever. I’ve learned how important it is to simply do things in my own time.

P.S. Also, I’m thinking about sewing a lining for the tote bag base so the cotton won’t stretch too much. I have no background in sewing, though, so let’s see how it goes. (I’ve bought the tools to hand-sew it, and I’m excited to try!)
