I Crocheted My Kindle a Home (And Slightly Messed Up the Zipper)
Remember how I ‘broke’ my old Kindle and decided to buy a new one two weeks ago?
Well, let’s just say the arrival of my newest household member deserved a proper celebration. And for my new baby Kindle, I crocheted a special sleeve to protect it at all costs.
Just so you know, I used this tutorial video from YouTube—and I loveee the pattern so much.
Since I didn’t have any buttons, I decided to put a little twist on it and use a zipper instead. But oh my… did I not learn from my past mistake.
Installing a zipper is not an easy task—I learned that the hard way during my last crochet project. For this Kindle sleeve, I was smart enough to use regular sewing thread instead of crochet yarn in a different color. But apparently, this girlie was not smart enough when it came to placing the zipper on the sleeve.
Just… just look at this:
P.S. My friend laughed so hard when she saw the zipper placement. What a good friend!!! (I said this lovingly.)
Still, I’m quite satisfied with how it turned out. My Kindle is now protected, and I’m happy knowing I can bring my baby anywhere with me.
I am officially a responsible Kindle mama.
