Trying an Indoor Playground as an Adult

Well, I started writing this post with an aching sensation in both my arms and legs. I can’t say I’m surprised—it’s been a while since I last exercised. So after my boyfriend and I spent two hours at an indoor playground called SuperPark at Pondok Indah Mall a few Saturdays ago, the repercussions came a little too soon.

Both my knees were bruised. My arms and legs, however, were sore.

Still, it was so much fun regardless! And the price we had to pay felt worth it in comparison: the entrance ticket cost IDR 230k per person, while a pair of anti-slip socks was sold for IDR 25k. We also paid an additional IDR 10k per hour to rent a locker, where we stuffed our belongings.

Since we chose the 10:30–12:30 time slot, we were able to dodge the crowd. For the first few games, we almost—almost—had most of the arenas to ourselves (save for some kids who kept hogging a few of them).

My favorite? Definitely the Super Pinball. It was basically a live-action pinball game where we kicked a ball to score points. I also loved the good ol’ basketball game.

P.S. I managed to beat my boyfriend’s first score after a few tries.

I also learned that I would be a terrible Katniss Everdeen—because the way I held a bow in the archery game? Painfully unnatural.

And if we’re talking about slides, you should know that I’m bad at those too. I was genuinely afraid of breaking my neck while sliding down. How was I that fearless during my toddler years? I have no idea.

Well, sorry it took me this long to write about this fun, adventurous little experience. I really love trying new things like this—it’s such a fun date idea to go for.
