A Chaotic Update: This Week Included Pho, Burnout, and Lamps
I won’t say I’m a bad blogger because I believe every word is a manifestation, but I’m very much aware that I missed a whole week of posting—which definitely doesn’t make me a good one either. So yes, the dilemma is real.
So real.
My excuse is kinda lame, but I’m telling the truth: I’ve been feeling under the weather these past few days…
And also a little busy being too productive, which—as usual—eventually hit me with a wave of extreme tiredness.
Buuut I’m glad to be back (hopefully!). To catch you up on what’s been happening lately, here’s my recap:
#1 - I forgot to slow down, and things got messy.
I wrote a reminder post about the importance of slowing down once… or twice. But I guess I’m better at lecturing than listening, because what do you mean I rushed through last week after writing THIS post and THAT post???
And you see, when you’re determined to learn something, the universe finds ways to teach you. My desire to embrace slow living was painfully reminded to me through how ridiculously clumsy I became last week.
Rushing incident number one: I dropped way too many things.
Rushing incident number two: my foot slammed into a hard surface.
Rushing incident number three: I completely forgot to bring my stuff.
Well. Apparently, I did need the reminders.
Since then, I’ve been trying to slow down a little more. And honestly? It’s been working wonderfully for me.
Even though I ended up missing a bus because of it… I’m not complaining.
#2 - When I caught a cold, I needed good hot soup.
Last Sunday, while my boyfriend and I were looking for a less crowded place to eat lunch, we passed a Vietnamese restaurant called Viet24. Intrigued by the menu displayed outside, we decided to go in.
And let me just say: the pho did not disappoint. It tasted AMAZING. I didn’t expect the broth to be so rich and flavorful, but it absolutely was.
It saddens me to report, however, that summer rolls are apparently not for me.
I was so, so, so bummed. I’ve always imagined myself vacationing in Vietnam and happily eating fresh rolls there. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that I simply could not acquire the taste for rice paper rolls.
I was heartbroken.
One of my dreams was crushed.
By my own taste buds.
#3 - I found the secret to a cozy aesthetic room.
No matter how hard I tried to tidy up my room, I could never make it feel cozy enough… or aesthetic enough.
Last week, I visited one of my favorite places ever—Pinterest—and went slightly insane while making a vision board for my room. After looking through countless photos, I came to one conclusion: the problem had to be the lack of windows.
My room is windowless, after all. No stunning nighttime cityscape. No romantic rainy-evening view.
But after specifically searching for “aesthetic cozy room without a window,” I realized something important: it was possible.
The real question was how.
How could I make my room feel charming without a giant window overlooking the city at night?
And after hours of further research, I finally discovered the answer:
Lamps.
Every single photo I pinned had one thing in common: warm white lighting glowing from every corner. Just some freaking lamps… and that was basically it.
I felt like Plankton after stealing the secret formula from Mr. Krabs.
As you might’ve guessed, I then spent another few hours searching for the perfect lamps for my room. I ended up buying two: a cute table lamp and an LED light with a remote control.
And honestly?
My room has never felt more comfortable.
Still wish I had a window, though. Because with this lighting and a stunning cityscape view, the vibe would’ve been MORE THAN PERFECT!!!
So… those are my massive life updates. I hope your week has been just as flavorful!
