Be Like Pink Rain Lilies
When I went back to my parents' house last week, the first thing my mom said was, "Come see the newly bloomed pink flowers before they wither!"
I told her I’d see them tomorrow.
And I did. I went to check out the recent addition to my mom's garden the next day. There were two pink rain lilies growing in the middle of her front yard.
My mom said those flowers would wither in just a few days. Based on my research online, she was right. Pink rain lilies, which typically bloom after periods of rain, are known to be quite short-lived. But the plant's charm, in my opinion, lies in the fact that it blooms repeatedly throughout the season. Its headstrong yet brief nature adds to the appeal of the petals' vibrant color.
When I asked my mom about the flowers yesterday, she simply showed me a recently snapped photo of her garden. No more pink rain lilies in sight. She promised to keep an eye out for the next bloom, though, and let me document it on my blog.
Note to self for the blog: Be like pink rain lilies—brief, vibrant posts that bloom again and again.
