How We Threw an Affordable, Pinterest-Worthy Bridal Shower
A friend of mine from college is getting married this weekend (sweet!!!). To celebrate her last week of being a ‘Ms.’, we threw her a private bridal shower with only a few of her closest friends. The small gathering turned out to be a fun, impromptu reunion with some people I hadn’t seen in so long. It felt like college all over again—not to mention all the drama and boy talk (and all the inside jokes)!
Since there were nine of us this time (and not just a few, like at the bridal shower I threw last year), we couldn’t just book a random hotel room. We needed something spacious. A friend told us about a hotel in Tangerang called Yellow Bee. For just IDR 430,000, we got a 22-square-meter room filled with many cute props. What a deal. Booked!
The ‘bride’ headband, ring helium balloon, and veil were from us. We also ordered a really pretty cake from @cupcakefortoday.jkt.
The guitar, flower lei, and fedora hat were provided by the hotel. They gave off a summer, Hawaiian-themed vibe that was colorful and lovely.
Despite the fact that the room became so hot if we moved too much (I think nine people in a 22-square-meter room is still too many), I was really glad we did the whole thing together. It was full of laughter, delightful conversation, and (hopefully) stress-free for the bride-to-be. But hey, that’s what a bridal shower is for, right?
P.S. We did that thing again where we printed the groom-to-be’s face as a mask. From what I heard, the groom-to-be found it very amusing.
