The Night I Took the Longer Way Home
Last week, when it was raining lightly after working hours ended, I boarded a different bus from my usual one and got off at a stop a little farther from home. The decision wasn’t made because I was feeling adventurous, but simply because my usual bus was nowhere to be seen.
So, I hopped on another bus that looked much emptier in comparison. Planning to get off at the nearest stop to my home and walk the rest of the way, I realized this might actually be the perfect solution to the bus problem I had been having! After all, there are times when I would rather walk a little farther than get wedged into a too-crowded bus with a long queue waiting behind it.
And that’s how I ended up walking for about a mile that day, with Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend playing in my earphones.
I couldn’t have been more satisfied with how that night turned out.
Except for my umbrella. It broke. But well.
