The “I’ve Been Busy, I Promise” Post (with January Wrap-Up as Compensation)
If you’re on my blog mailing list, you would know that the reason I’ve been neglecting both of my blogs is out of my control.
(Spoiler alert: it’s work. My super serious, real-life work.)
I really don’t mean to be such a bad blogger. I’m just trying to maintain positivity by not going too hard on myself. Not feeling productive? That’s okay. I’ll scroll through social media first. Not feeling like crocheting? That’s fine. I can do it next week, or the next after that. You can probably guess what happens if I’m not feeling like writing, either.
Today, I’m just popping in to say I’m sorry. Everything I love to do—including my blog and its mailing list—is a one-woman job that I do all alone. I don’t have an assistant. I just have the desire to write and a passion to share. And it’s the thing that’s kept both of my blogs moving these past few years.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I need longer breaks between posts. And I hope you guys are okay with the less frequent posting schedule. In the meantime, I’ll just share my January wrap-up because it’s quick, and I’m currently on a lunch break at work.
On a Saturday. Yes.
(In case it wasn’t obvious, this post was written on a Saturday. And yes, I just edited this today. The break, guys. The break.)
See this post to take a peek at all the books I read in January. (Okay, this feels a little like cheating, but let’s say I’m being efficient.)
The only movie I watched in January was Mercy, and it was SO GOOD. It’s the kind of movie that doesn’t require multiple settings to be interesting. I got really immersed in Chris Pratt’s character and how he was trying to solve his wife’s murder. The use of AI as the ultimate judge seems like something… not unlikely, given the era we’re living in right now. So rather than feeling like an impossible sci-fi, this movie feels more like a murder mystery with advanced technology.
So yes, please go watch it.
