Catering Log, Week Two: The Homemade Illusion
I can’t believe it’s that time of the week again—time to share my catering meals log!
This week, I continued with my Warteg Online catering plan. I started on Tuesday again since there was a little… drama on Monday. After getting used to being pampered with lunch delivered straight to the office lobby, I wasn’t quite as excited as I was last week. Still, seeing my menu come to life was so much fun!
Here’s my weekly lunch rundown:
Tuesday
Carbo: Rice
Protein: Fried chicken with dried shrimp
Fiber: Stir-fried bean sprouts with tempeh
Condiment: Fried chili sauce
Wednesday
Carbo: Rice
Protein: Crispy dory fish with balado sauce
Fiber: Stir-fried water spinach with garlic
Thursday
Carbo: Aceh-style fried rice
Protein: Chicken with Aceh spices & omelet
Condiment: Sliced cucumbers
Friday
Carbo: Rice
Protein: Kung Pao chicken
Fiber: Stir-fried choy sum with oyster sauce
Condiment: Chili sauce
P.S. I told the catering customer service not to send my meal on Saturday since I’m planning to eat out with my boyfriend tomorrow.
In conclusion? This week’s meals still felt like my mom’s cooking. When I sent a picture to my family WhatsApp group, my mom confirmed it by saying, “Exactly like mine. So homemade.”
