Lunch, But Make It Easy: My Warteg Online Catering Adventure
Guys, I've been pampered...
Since I signed up for a one-month catering meal plan last Tuesday, lunch has never felt so exciting! I no longer have to rush before lunchtime to avoid the crowded office lift, nor do I have to queue in the canteen anymore.
It feels like getting room service every day. I'm in such a full-blown catering-delirium state right now.
So, for my first catering subscription of the year, I chose a monthly lunch package from Warteg Online. I paid IDR 700,000 for 24 lunches, and I think it's quite a good deal—especially since there's no additional delivery fee. Here's a quick recap of what I ate this week:
Tuesday
Carbo: Rice
Protein: Taiwanese crispy chicken
Fiber: Stir-fried baby corn, carrots, and beef meatballs
Condiment: Chili sauce
Wednesday
Carbo: Rice
Protein: Crispy dori with tartar sauce

Condiment: Chili sauce
Thursday

Friday

If you ask me, I would say I'm satisfied. The food is clean, well-portioned, and—bonus point—has a strong homemade feel. For a home-cooked meal lover like me, these dishes taste very similar to my mom's cooking, just more varied.
That said, my friend, who also subscribed to the same service, felt that the fiber dishes were a bit bland. It's one of those "to each their own" situations, I guess. But if you're looking for a clean, homemade-style meal subscription, Warteg Online might be worth checking out.
Once my one-month subscription ends, I'm thinking of switching things up just for the sake of trying different catering services. But if I'm too lazy to do the research, I wouldn't mind sticking with my current meal plan.
