Apparently, I’ve Been Wrong About These Five Things

After posting a little too regularly these past few months, I’ve been feeling kind of… unmotivated lately. I’m not sure why. Writing (especially in this blog) has never been a chore for me. But recently, I just haven’t had the desire to talk that much. (Still, let’s hope that someday it becomes my main source of income. Let me be a professional, pleaseee!)

While I’m taking some time off blogging, I’ve been discovering a few new facts. So why not take this opportunity to try writing again and see how it goes? With that said, here are five new things that shocked me:

Srikaya jam is not made from srikaya fruit.

In Indonesia, there’s this fruit called srikaya (sugar apple). And I do love srikaya! While I haven’t tried the fruit itself, I always knew that I loved the jam. It tasted sweet—perfect for bread pairing.

Just last week, however, something led me to discover that my entire belief about srikaya jam was a lie. Srikaya (the jam) is never made from srikaya (the fruit). Instead, it’s made with coconut milk, eggs, sugar, and pandan leaves.

So this whole time, when I said I loved srikaya, I didn’t mean the fruit. What I loved instead was processed sugar.

I felt so messed up inside. Wow.

The United Kingdom is not the same as England.

I always assumed that the UK was just another name for England—a country where British people come from. Turns out, I was wrong. The UK is not just England. It’s a sovereign state made up of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

And the British Royal Family? They’re the monarchs of the entire UK, not just England. No wonder Prince William is titled the Prince of Wales.

At the bottom of it all, please note that I’m bad at geography. Forgive me for having this very obvious fact mistaken?

The existence of other types of dimples.

When someone mentioned dimples, I always associated them with two small holes on someone’s cheeks. Little did I know there are actually other types of dimples… and maybe, just maybe, I have one.

From TikTok, I discovered something called dahlia dimples (which are basically smaller dimples near your smile lines). But I still can’t tell the difference between dahlia dimples and actual smile lines. It's impossible to tell them apart.

So, do you think I have dahlia dimples, or are these just regular smile lines?

Oh, the mystery.

Stella Pocket in the scent ‘Luxurious Flower’ smells so good.

A couple of days ago, I decided to buy a pink Stella Pocket in the scent ‘Luxurious Flower’. I didn’t expect too much from it since floral scents were never really my go-to.

But after I hung it in my bathroom, I realized how amazing it smelled! My bathroom feels slightly like a garden now.

I just hope it lasts quite a while.

I really need to work out.

Not-so-fun fact: I realized that when I walked a little farther than usual, I got so tired afterward. I’m so out of shape. I need to work out soon.
