End-of-Year Trends, Office Edition
A couple of weeks ago, my workmates and I set up this stunning photo frame to celebrate Christmas. We actually planned to make the cardboard look the same as it did last year, but there was one tiny problem…
We lost most of our Christmas decorations.
Now that I think about it, lost is such a harsh word. In the ocean of years’ worth of documents and random stuff, the chance that we actually lost them is far lower than the probability that we simply misplaced everything.
So we had to tweak whatever our ordinary eyes could find. And that’s when these colorful fairy lights came into play.
Good news: the cardboard somehow turned out prettier than we had expected. The girls squeaked excitedly when they saw how the aesthetic pictures turned out.
Mine:
I know, I know—it’s a bit late to post another Christmas-related thing. But I came prepared. That’s why I decided to combine this post with another trend: the achievement cake.
Here’s how it worked: each of us wrote down one achievement from this year and put them on a “cake”.
Since we, um, didn’t actually have a cake, we settled on a plate of fermented cassava balls instead. We ordered them during a lunch outing today (so this topic is very fresh and up to date!), and this was how ours turned out (plus the translation, because I’m oh-so-accommodating):
Mine: One-year anniversary with my boyfriend. (Because I’m corny when it comes to him!)
Workmate A: Finishing a master’s degree. (Nice!)
Workmate B: Getting accepted into her dream company and finishing the probation period. (Double nice!)
Workmate C: Survive! (Simple and perfectly put!)
Workmate D: First time joining a 5K race at the targeted pace *smiley emoji*. (So trendy!)
The manager: God’s providence and blessings throughout the year. (So true!)
Well, wasn’t it fun? I’m not usually one to jump on trends, but since one of my workmates is a huge trend lover (or so I conclude), the rest of us thought it would be fun to join in.
(Bonus photos: our delicious lunch, because why not.)
So, happy, happy new year, readers. I sincerely hope to see you again here next year.
Cheers to 2026! May we all have a blessed and amazing year ahead of us!
